What Are Diet Pills? |
Diet pills are pills that are designed for losing weight quickly and easily. These are not an alternative for diets and other weight loss programs. Diet pills are prescribed by doctors for people who suffer from obesity and have found no other way of losing weight. Diet pills are a last resort, used because of real health concerns. They are not meant for mainstream use as a quick way to lose weight, because MOST of the pills cause serious side effects themselves. Hair loss, high blood pressure, fever, impotence and depression are all associated with diet pills. Most diet pills found in the market and online have not been adequately tested. Many are banned outright. Some, like Alli, a mild diet pill, are approved and used in conjunction with regular exercise. Alli is to be used only by adults and only when prescribed by a doctor. Most diet pills are also temporary at best. The weight comes back on once the pills are stopped, and diet pills cannot be taken indefinitely because they will cause lasting damage. Therefore, diet pills are strongly advised against when looking for a weight loss solution. Long term regular exercise and healthy eating is a much better alternative.
