Are There Fat Burning Foods |
Fat burning foods are basically the foods that take more energy to digest and absorb than they release upon digestion. What this means is that our bodies use energy to break down the food into its component particles. When food is broken down, they also release energy. When the amount of energy released is less than the amount of energy used for breakdown, the food is said to be a fat burning food, or a negative calorie food. Most fruits and vegetables are fat burning. Apples, limes and oranges are most often recommended as well as beans, spinach and asparagus. Fish such as salmon and lean meat such as beef are fat burning too, because they contain a lot of protein which takes a great deal of energy to digest. Cereals such as oatmeal and whole grain bread are also particularly good fat burners. This is because they contain large amounts of fiber, another substance which requires a lot of energy to digest. Another item on the fat burning foods list is green tea. Green tea contains chemicals that speed up the nervous system and brain, making them burn more energy. All the fat burning foods here also provide nutrients - vitamins, proteins and fiber. Eating fat burning foods not only burn up calories, they also provide much needed nutrients.
